These are the battle lines of the beginning of the civil war.
Those behind red to the North are the Liberation Army Those behind Orange to the south (with most of the territory) is the Loyalists (Styesjl's faction) And in between is territory who's defacto authority changes rapidly
[edit] Beginning
The war began on June 30, Year 1
A description of the war is as follows
The camels back has finally broken. Today Pontical is now in a state of all out civil war. Today the first moves were made from widespread civil disorder to a full blown civil war as Catholics and Dwarfs rose up in Pontical Heights and completely seized control of the local government, in the ensuing takeover many of open supporters of President Stylesjl and the Pontical Heights Officials were massacred after being rounded up in the Pontical Heights town square, and many of the victims included non-catholic Christians, atheists, orcs, and Orthodox Christians regardless of whether they supported Stylesjl or not.
In response a fresh wave of bloody street combat occurred in the town of Pontical Woods where thousands had their homes burned down as Pontical Woods was set ablaze and looted by rioters and soldiers. In the end the forces loyal to Stylesjl prevailed at a bloody cost, and the prisoners were executed by beheading in response to the Pontical Heights atrocities. The forest still remains ablaze and the smoke is likely to disrupt agriculture around the entire continent as a result.
Furthermore a dwarfen raiding party attempted to enter Orcistan and raid the Sanctum where the Tree Star Artifact is held. The raid failed and Orcistan remains firmly in the Stylesjl loyal camp. However now the rebels in Pontical Heights, styling themselves as the Pontical Liberation Army have began attacks against farmland bordering Pontical Central in an attempt to cause more disruption to the loyal government.
[edit] Attempted Peace Settlement
On the 3rd of July a messenger from the Liberation Army side was sent to Pontical to ask for peace. Stylesjl rejected the peace settlement and demanded unconditional surrender, vowing to reunite the Empire

On the 18th of July after the Liberation Army could no longer receive supplies from the Desopsian army, and they surrendered unconditionally to the Loyalists.
