The Great Wall
From Galava Wiki
The Great Wall of Russia exists as a large network of extensive fortifications created during the reign of Tsar Peter I, and ran from the farthest part of Southwest Russia, to the eastern tip of the Empire. Since there is no state existing to the north of Russia, it provides adequate defense against most empires seeking to harm Russia.
[edit] Specifications
The wall is roughly 11 Meteres High, 2,000 Kilometers long, and wide enough for Six Boyar Sons to walk abreast each other. Exact specifications are difficult to measure given the long duration of the wall and its somewhat inconsistencies. Though it is not uniform, there are no sections that are below 9 Meters high or narrower than 4 Soldiers abreast. It was constructed of Brick, Stone and Mortar. Towers are emplaced every 10 Kilometers, with a Signal system of fires emplaced as an early warning system.
[edit] Usage and Legacy
The wall currently stands as a testament to Rus engineering, skilled labour and the collective cooperation of the Eastern Empires. It's ramparts and walls deter most attackers, and was originally built to keep Timurid raiders out, but has become much more of a symbol of Russia's social and military status in Galava.
